A tad late to reply Haldav but yes I have just last week finished reading The Gathering. It is beautifully written and totally involving; I think it deserved the award although so far I have read only Ian McEwan's On Chesil Beach of the others on the Booker short list.

Evelyn has been reading a lot of Kinsey Millhone mysteries lately. As I normally spend Wednesday mornings in the library, I will take back "N for Noose" and see what else they have.
