Re: Error reported by file upload server: No space left on server

It would seem strange that they would be out of space. I just wish they would let us know how much longer this may go on for.

Re: Error reported by file upload server: No space left on server

I happen to miss the special read-only Technical section of the forum. It meant I didn't have to weed through the general discussion when something like this happens. I know they have the "News" section, but it doesn't seem to be updated like the old forum used to be.

Re: Error reported by file upload server: No space left on server

Uplinger has been working on this for days. WCG is too successful. The servers are not 'assimilating' the returned results fast enough. Space is unimportant. Any amount of space will eventually be filled up. The answer is to speed up the way that the servers process the results returned.

There will be a way. We just need to practice our patience.

Thanks for the clarification. So instead of a shortage of drive space, what we're really talking about is a shortage of servers then? Yes?

"WCG is too successful."

And the MCM1 files are bigger than they used to be, which takes more time for the servers to assimilate them . Of the ones I have glanced at they are 450 kb ~ 2 mb in size. That and there are daily multiple millions of combined results from the three projects:

"...what we're really talking about is a shortage of servers then? Yes?"
Yes, or if they somehow send out a mix of different sized WU for MCM1. A mix of beefy WU and leaner ones from the same project might be enough to do it without buying new servers.

Can't delete this. And yes, later I found that out. Thank you for your reply.
